- Year 2000 readiness began with Version 5.6
V5.6 monitors provided Y2K support
through 2099
by the use of 2 Age or Epoch bits in the
Date word
Each epoch is 32 years

Year 2000 readiness completed in
Version 5.7
- All monitors support 4 digit dates with automatic
rollover between the epochs
- All utilities using dates now correctly use and accept 4
digit dates through 2099
- For example PIP, DIR, BUP, LINK, etc.
- System libraries include functions for both 2 digit and 4
digit year formats
- IND has a two digit date symbol (DATE) and a 4 digit date
symbol (DATE4Y)
- File structured tape handler supports ANSI tapes to 2099
- 2 digit year Date routines kept for backwards
compatibility
